Account compromise via six-character minimum passwords
Published Jan 4, 2025 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Weak password requirements in Optimizely EPiServer.CMS.UI before 12.32.0 allow remote attackers to target accounts with password attacks. The CMS password-policy enforcement accepts passwords as short as six characters without adequate complexity requirements. Successful password spraying or offline cracking exposes the affected account's privileges, while the advisory establishes no direct access without first guessing or cracking a password.
