CVE-2025-22381Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via attacker-controlled password-reset host

Published Oct 16, 2025 · Updated Oct 16, 2025

Host header injection in Aggie 2.6.1 allows remote attackers to redirect password-reset links and capture reset tokens. The sendEmail helper in lib/api/reset-password.js passes the unvalidated HTTP Host header to the forgotPassword email template as the reset-link host. The attacker needs no account, but account takeover requires the victim to open the emailed attacker-controlled link, exposing the token.
