CVE-2025-2233

Authentication bypass via unverified API request signatures

Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Improper signature verification in Samsung SmartThings 000.054.00013 allows attackers to bypass Hub Local API authentication. The service listens on TCP port 8766 by default and accepts requests whose cryptographic signatures are not properly verified. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must share an adjacent network; published details do not specify permitted post-bypass actions.
