CVE-2025-22249Network attack vector

Access-token theft via crafted DOM payload URL

Published May 13, 2025 · Updated May 13, 2025

DOM-based XSS in VMware Aria Automation 8.18.x allows remote attackers to steal a logged-in user's access token via a crafted URL. Client-side DOM handling processes attacker-controlled URL data as active page content, but VMware has not disclosed the exact source, sink, or missing neutralization step. Exploitation requires the logged-in user to open the crafted link; the documented consequence is theft of that user's appliance access token.
