CVE-2025-22248

Unauthenticated database access via trusted repmgr account

Published May 13, 2025 · Updated May 13, 2025

Insecure defaults in Bitnami pgpool before 4.6.0-1 and postgres-ha before 16.0.0 allow remote attackers to access PostgreSQL. The default PGPOOL_SR_CHECK_USER names repmgr while the cluster authentication configuration grants that account trust access without a password. Reachability requires cluster-network access or external Pgpool exposure, after which the PostgreSQL service is accessible as the repmgr account.
