Timing discrepancy in Spring Security 5.7.16, 5.8.18, 6.0.16, 6.1.14, 6.2.10, 6.3.8, and 6.4.4 allows remote attackers to infer valid usernames. BCrypt.hashpw rejects passwords longer than 72 bytes during BCryptPasswordEncoder.matches, disrupting DaoAuthenticationProvider's dummy password comparison for missing users. Exposure requires DaoAuthenticationProvider with BCrypt and acceptance of an overlength password; the response-time difference discloses account validity without altering data.
