Server compromise via unchecked file paths
Published Jan 10, 2025 · Updated Jan 10, 2025
Path traversal in Atheos before 600 allows remote authenticated users to read, modify, or execute arbitrary server files. The shared checks.php path logic and transfer, dialog, and file-manager handlers accept path, target, and filename values without restricting resolved paths to authorized directories. A privileged Atheos account is required; crafted requests can expose system files, place PHP payloads outside the workspace, and compromise the server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
