CVE-2025-22118

Guest-to-host compromise via queue-index overflow

Published Apr 16, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in the Linux kernel ice driver 6.13 through 6.14.1 allows guest OS users to compromise the host via a VF message. The ice_vc_cfg_q_quanta function adds attacker-controlled 16-bit start_queue_id and num_queues without overflow checking, then indexes vsi->tx_rings across the wrapped range. Exploitation requires an assigned Intel ice SR-IOV virtual function with the QoS capability; a crafted mailbox request can corrupt host-kernel memory or panic the host.
