CVE-2025-22066

Local service interruption via unchecked allocation failure

Published Apr 16, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in the Linux ASoC imx-card driver allows local users to interrupt service during device probing. During imx_card_probe(), devm_kasprintf() can return NULL on allocation failure, but the driver dereferences the result without checking it. Reachability requires the Freescale i.MX sound-card driver and an allocation failure during probing; the resulting kernel fault interrupts service.
