CVE-2025-21906

Wi-Fi disruption via stale remain-on-channel state

Published Apr 1, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Improper state initialization in the Linux kernel allows physically proximate attackers to disrupt Wi-Fi through repeated P2P traffic. When iwlwifi firmware fails to start session protection, iwl_mvm_roc_finished() skips cleanup because IWL_MVM_STATUS_ROC_P2P_RUNNING was never set, leaving the link active. An attacker must be within Wi-Fi Direct radio range; a later remain-on-channel request reaches WARN_ON() against the stale link state.
