CVE-2025-21874

Kernel crash via inline status division by zero

Published Mar 27, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Divide-by-zero in Linux dm-integrity 6.11 and later affected branches allows local users to crash the kernel via an Inline-mode table query. dm_integrity_status calculates the journal watermark by dividing by journal_sectors even though Inline mode leaves that value at zero. Reachability requires an Inline-mode dm-integrity target and permission to query its device-mapper table; the resulting divide error produces a kernel OOPS.
