CVE-2025-2184

Cross-installation service access via shared default credentials

Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025

Credential management in Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR Broker VM 28.0.0 through 28.0.51 allows remote attackers to access internal services. Broker VM images reuse identical default credentials for internal services, so credentials obtained from one installation authenticate to other installations. Network access to the appliance is required; no special configuration is needed, and the documented impact is limited to unauthorized internal-service access.
