Local crash via device-bound generic XDP attachment
Published Feb 27, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux kernel allows local users to crash the system by attaching a device-bound XDP program in generic mode. The XDP attachment path fails to reject device-bound programs before driver-specific RX metadata kfuncs execute without the required driver context. Reaching the flaw requires local permission to load and attach an XDP program, and successful triggering interrupts the host through a kernel crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
