CVE-2025-2175Network attack vector

Service crash via _vbi_strndup_iconv integer overflow

Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Mar 11, 2025

Integer overflow in ZVBI before 0.2.44 allows remote attackers to crash applications that process crafted VBI text data. Public sources identify _vbi_strndup_iconv and a resulting heap overflow but do not disclose the exact overflowing calculation. Exploitation requires an application to process attacker-controlled input with user interaction, and the CNA assessment bounds the direct consequence to a service crash.
