CVE-2025-21724

Service interruption via oversized mapped page shift

Published Feb 27, 2025 · Updated Jul 14, 2026

Shift-out-of-bounds in Linux iommufd allows local users to interrupt service through an IOVA bitmap with a mapped page shift over 31. In iova_bitmap_offset_to_index(), a 32-bit integer constant is shifted by bitmap->mapped.pgshift, so values above 31 invoke undefined behavior during index calculation. Low-privileged local access is required, and Siemens embeds the affected kernel code in the additional GNU/Linux subsystem of its V3.1.5 MFP controller firmware.
