Service interruption via mismatched GTP namespace tracking
Published Jan 31, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Improper input validation in the Linux kernel GTP driver allows local users to interrupt service during network-namespace teardown. gtp_newlink registers the device in dev_net(dev) instead of the UDP socket's src_net, leaving the device alive when the socket namespace is removed. The path requires permission to create a cross-namespace GTP link; dismantling the socket namespace triggers a kernel warning and service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
