Browser script execution via unescaped statistics parameters
Published Mar 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Timo Fuchs Pixelstats 0.8.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts through post_id or sortby requests. In pixelstats.php, statistics-page rendering returns those request parameters to HTML without sufficient input sanitization or context-appropriate output escaping. No authentication is required, but a user must follow a crafted link; the script then runs in that site’s browser origin and can read or alter page data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
