Authenticated SQL injection via unchecked query operator
Published Jan 9, 2025 · Updated Jan 9, 2025
SQL injection in Chatwoot 2.16.1 through versions before 3.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute SQL through filter requests. The FilterService query builder interpolates attacker-controlled query_operator values into a SQL condition; vulnerable releases do not restrict the value to AND or OR. A valid Chatwoot account and access to conversation or contact filters are required; a tautological WHERE clause can override intended filtering and run arbitrary SQL.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
