Remote code execution via unchecked playlist covers
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated Jan 7, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in MacWarrior ClipBucket V5 5.5.1 - 238 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The playlist_upload_cover function derives the destination name and extension from attacker-controlled request data, saves the file under a web-accessible playlist-covers path, and validates the image only after storage. A self-registered account reaches the low-level user workflow; executing the stored PHP grants control as the application process.
