Service outage via unauthenticated template path overwrite
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated Jan 7, 2025
Path traversal in ClipBucket V5 before 5.5.1 - 238 allows remote attackers to interrupt service through an unauthenticated request. ClipBucket::set_the_template accepts template and set_template query parameters, checks only whether the joined path is a directory, and stores a traversed path as template_dir. A single request to any page that loads common.php can persist an invalid template directory in the database and leave subsequent page requests unable to render.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
