CVE-2025-21604Network attack vector

File substitution via MD5-based upload deduplication

Published Jan 6, 2025 · Updated Jan 6, 2025

Weak file hashing in FileService.java in moyangzhan LangChain4j-AIDeepin before 3.5.0 allows remote attackers to cause upload conflicts. The writeToLocal method uses an MD5 digest as the database lookup and deduplication key, so distinct uploaded files with the same digest resolve to one stored file record. Network access to the upload path is sufficient; a chosen MD5 collision can make a user receive previously stored content instead of the intended upload.
