CVE-2025-21578

Local privileged takeover via undisclosed mechanism

Published Apr 15, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Improper permissions in Oracle Secure Backup 12.1.0.1 through 12.1.0.3 and 18.1.0.0 through 18.1.0.2 allow local users to take over the service. Oracle identifies only the General component and does not disclose the critical resource or the incorrect permission operation. A high-privileged logon to the hosting infrastructure is required; successful exploitation compromises the backup application rather than the host itself.
