Low-privileged database hang or repeatable crash
Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Resource exhaustion in the Server Parser component of MySQL Server allows remote authenticated users to cause a hang or repeatable crash. Oracle identifies the locus only as Server Parser and has not disclosed the malformed input or the operation that exhausts resources. A low-privileged account and network access over multiple protocols are required; affected releases are 8.0.40 and earlier, 8.4.3 and earlier, and 9.1.0 and earlier.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
