Database hang or crash via undisclosed optimizer flaw
Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.39 and earlier, 8.4.2 and earlier, or 9.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash it. Oracle identifies the affected component only as Server: Optimizer and has not published the faulty operation or triggering input. Exploitation requires a high-privilege account with network access over a supported protocol; a successful attack causes a hang or frequently repeatable crash without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
