Memory corruption via zero-length image-encoding IOCTL
Published May 6, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon camera drivers allows local users to compromise systems through an image-encoding IOCTL. The driver processes an image-encoding request whose input buffer length is zero instead of rejecting the invalid IOCTL parameter, corrupting memory. Low-privileged local access is required, and successful exploitation compromises the affected system within the camera driver's execution context.
