CVE-2025-2146Network attack vector

Code execution or crash via authentication overflow

Published May 25, 2025 · Updated May 27, 2025

Buffer overflow in Canon printer firmware 05.07 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code through WebService Authentication. The WebService Authentication handler overflows a buffer while processing authentication data; Canon has not disclosed the field, buffer, or copy operation. Reachability requires network-segment access, and direct Internet exposure can result in arbitrary code execution or a service crash.
