Memory corruption via unchecked EMAC result copy
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Classic buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon Auto EMAC allows local users to corrupt memory while copying a result to the transmit queue. The EMAC path copies a computed result into its transmission queue without checking the destination capacity, overwriting adjacent memory when the result exceeds the queue buffer. Reachability requires local low-privileged access; Qualcomm has not disclosed the controllable input, post-corruption primitive, or whether code execution is achievable.
