Memory corruption via concurrent process-creation IOCTLs
Published Apr 7, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Use-after-free in Qualcomm Snapdragon DSP Service allows local users with low privileges to corrupt memory via concurrent process-creation IOCTLs. The service initiates two process-creation IOCTL calls from different threads concurrently, allowing one path to access memory after the other frees it. The race requires local low-privileged access, and Qualcomm has not disclosed a more specific consequence than DSP-service memory corruption.
