Remote code execution via RMCAST use-after-free
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Use-after-free in the Microsoft Windows RMCAST driver allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through network traffic. Microsoft identifies the Reliable Multicast Transport Driver and CWE-416 but has not disclosed the affected function, freed object, or packet-processing sequence. Network access is sufficient; no authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants code execution in the driver's security context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
