Unauthenticated code execution via disabled default authentication
Published Mar 9, 2025 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Authentication bypass in Mage AI 0.9.75 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the exposed pipeline editor. The server initializes REQUIRE_USER_AUTHENTICATION as false, allowing unauthenticated requests to create a Python block and run operating-system commands. Exposure requires network access to the web service and the default setting; commands run with the Mage server process's privileges.
