Remote service crash via NULL-pointer dereference
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
NULL-pointer dereference in Microsoft Message Queuing on affected Windows releases allows remote attackers to crash the MSMQ service. MSMQ dereferences a null pointer while processing a crafted network message, terminating the service instead of rejecting the input. No authentication or user interaction is required, but Message Queuing must be installed and reachable; the bounded impact is interruption of the MSMQ service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
