Unauthenticated service interruption via resource consumption
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Denial of service in Microsoft Message Queuing on affected Windows releases allows remote attackers to interrupt queue processing over a network. Microsoft identifies improper input validation and uncontrolled resource consumption in MSMQ, but has not disclosed the malformed input or processing path. The MSMQ service must be installed and network reachable; successful exploitation interrupts queue processing without affecting confidentiality or integrity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
