Credential disclosure via plaintext hostapd configuration
Published Mar 9, 2025 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Cleartext credential storage in THINKWARE F800PRO 20250226 allows physically proximate attackers to obtain the dashcam owner's credentials. The configuration file handler writes those credentials without encryption to /tmp/hostapd.conf, where they can be extracted as readable text. Exploitation requires momentary physical access to the device, and the disclosed consequence is credential exposure rather than data modification or service interruption.
