Administrator access via nonce-free option updates
Published Apr 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in WPBrigade WP Headers & Footers 3.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to update site options. The custom_plugin_set_option function accepts a forged administrator request without valid nonce verification and passes attacker-chosen option names and values to WordPress. Exploitation requires WPBRIGADE_SDK__DEV_MODE set to true and an administrator to follow the crafted request, enabling registration and setting the default role to Administrator.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
