CVE-2025-21101

Arbitrary file deletion via installation race

Published Jan 15, 2025 · Updated Jan 15, 2025

Race condition in Dell Display Manager before 2.3.2.20 allows local users to delete arbitrary files or folders during installation. Dell has not disclosed the affected installer component or the shared resource whose unsynchronized access creates the deletion window. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and user interaction with an installation, and the bounded consequence is deletion rather than code execution.
