Authenticated privilege escalation via unchecked user updates
Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Incorrect privilege assignment in GMOD Apollo before 2.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges via user updates. CISA and GMOD identify insufficient logic and access checks during user-information updates but do not disclose the affected handler or fields. Any valid low-privileged account can use the network-reachable update path to elevate its own privileges or those of another user.
