CVE-2025-21078

Backup-data disclosure via predictable secretKey generation

Published Nov 5, 2025 · Updated Nov 5, 2025

Insufficiently random secretKey generation in Samsung Smart Switch before 3.7.68.6 allows adjacent attackers to access application backup data. The backup-protection path generates secretKey values with insufficient randomness instead of using cryptographically secure key generation. Adjacent-network access is required, while authentication and user interaction are not; the published description does not clarify whether data can be altered.
