Remote code execution via malformed DNG images
Published Sep 12, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in libimagecodec.quram.so on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Apr-2025 Release 1 allows remote attackers to execute code. The image-processing library fails to validate malformed DNG data before writing outside its intended buffer. Successful exploitation requires processing an attacker-supplied image; observed LANDFALL samples delivered spyware and enabled surveillance.
