Local code execution via improper input validation
Published Sep 3, 2025 · Updated Sep 3, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in libsavsvc.so on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Sep-2025 Release 1 allows local users to execute code. The library writes beyond a buffer because it fails to validate input, but Samsung has not disclosed the affected parser, field, or bounds operation. Local access to a device running an affected Android 13, 14, 15, or 16 release is required; successful exploitation alters memory and executes code.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
