Memory corruption via unchecked MPEG4 macro blocks
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Samsung libsavsvc.so before Android 15 allows local users to corrupt memory through crafted MPEG4 macro blocks. The macro-block handler fails to validate input bounds before writing MPEG4 block data, allowing the write to extend beyond its intended buffer. A low-privilege local foothold and a complex trigger are required; successful exploitation can corrupt adjacent process memory.
