CVE-2025-20982

Memory corruption via unvalidated auth-secret write

Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in the KnoxVault trustlet on Samsung Mobile Devices with Android 14 or 15 allows local users to corrupt memory. The auth-secret setting path lacks proper input validation and writes beyond its destination buffer; Samsung has not disclosed the responsible function or malformed field. Reachability requires local privileged access, and the documented consequence is corruption of trustlet memory; no code execution is reported.
