CVE-2025-20975

SystemUI activity launch via improperly exported component

Published May 7, 2025 · Updated May 7, 2025

Improper component export in Samsung Always On Display before 8.8.28.12 allows local users to launch activities with systemui privileges. AODService exposes an Android application component without sufficient access control, allowing another local app to invoke arbitrary activities through it. Low-privileged local access is required; the resulting activity runs with systemui privilege and can expose data available to that context.
