Local memory disclosure via unchecked image length
Published Mar 6, 2025 · Updated Mar 6, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Samsung Notes before 4.4.26.71 allows local users to access process memory while parsing image data. The image parser fails to verify that supplied image lengths remain within the available buffer before reading, and the patch adds a proper length check. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and exposes adjacent process memory; no write or code-execution impact is reported.
