Out-of-bounds write in libsthmbc.so on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Jan-2025 Release 1 allows local users to execute privileged code. The frame-buffer decoder lacks proper input validation and writes beyond its intended memory bounds while decoding attacker-influenced content. Triggering requires user interaction on an affected Android 12, 13, or 14 device; successful exploitation runs code with elevated privilege.
