Authenticated profile modification via client-supplied userId
Published Mar 7, 2025 · Updated Mar 7, 2025
Improper access control in starsea-mall 1.0 and 2.X allows remote authenticated users to modify another user's profile data. The /personal/updateInfo handler binds a client-supplied User object and passes its userId to updateUserInfo without enforcing ownership. Any authenticated storefront account can submit the request; exploitation overwrites another account's stored profile data and can impair that account.
