Test-key disclosure via embedded trustlet test code
Published Feb 4, 2025 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Sensitive information exposure in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Jan-2025 Release 1 allows local users to obtain a test key. The softsim trustlet includes test code containing the sensitive key, making that key retrievable instead of keeping it out of production builds. Exploitation requires privileged local access on a select Android 12, 13, or 14 device, and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of the test key.
