CVE-2025-2082

Unauthenticated code execution via TPMS certificate response overflow

Published Apr 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 30, 2025

Integer overflow in Tesla Model 3 firmware 2024.8 allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code through the TPMS interface. The VCSEC module accepts a manipulated TPMS certificate response, overflows an integer before a memory write, and corrupts memory. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation runs code in VCSEC and permits arbitrary messages on the vehicle CAN bus.
