A stack overflow in MediaTek chipset modems allows physically proximate attackers operating a rogue base station to crash a connected UE. The modem fails to validate base-station input before writing it to a stack buffer; MediaTek has not disclosed the routine, message, or field. No execution privileges or user interaction are required, but the UE must connect to the attacker-controlled base station; the documented consequence is a system crash, not code execution.
