Local privilege escalation via WLAN stack overflow
Published Nov 4, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in MediaTek WLAN AP drivers allows local users with System privilege to gain higher local privileges. An incorrect bounds check permits an out-of-bounds write to a stack buffer in the WLAN access-point driver. Exploitation requires existing System privilege and no user interaction; MediaTek has not disclosed the triggering input or more specific code locus.
