Heap overflow in the MediaTek WLAN AP driver allows local users to elevate privileges through an out-of-bounds write. The driver performs an incorrect bounds check before writing to a heap buffer, but MediaTek has not disclosed the affected function or input path. Exploitation on SDK release 7.6.7.2 and earlier or OpenWRT 19.07 and 21.02 requires user execution privileges and no user interaction.
